A Fun and RAINY Day

So today was pretty much spent cleaning.  Then I took Annabelle out to the coffee shop to hang out with my friend which was really fun till I walked home!  I started walking home and it started POURING outside.  Annabelle wasn't in a stroller, I was carrying her.  But I was smart and brought her sweatshirt just in case it rained.  I thought I'd be able to get home because the rain let down, but as soon as I got up on the main road someone came driving by and it was EXACTLY like one of those movie scenes where a car drives by and just SOAKS the person on the sidewalk in water... Yeah that was me and Annabelle...So I turned around and hid undercover at our city hall and had my mom come get us.  Man was that interesting! haha.  Today was good though!  Probably should have brought the stroller but the stroller tires always get screwed up so I don't want it to get stuck while crossing the main/busy intersection with Annabelle.  Carrying her is just easier (except on my arms haha).  I think we will have to make another trip over there soon :)  Very fun!

Decorating!!!

Today I spent playing with Annabelle, and making decorations for her room!  Decorating her room is one of my goals for this summer.  After spending tons of time procrastinating I finally starting working on it!  I found two old wood frames I had and never used, so I painted those white.  I also had a paint canvas that I never finished which was painted yellow so I made that into a painting for her room.  For the two frames, one I made a giraffe silhouette out o craft paper to put in it and put alphabet stickers on it.  I'm still working on what to put in the other frame.  Well there's nothing else to say or today!  That's all my day consisted of! haha.

Lost Puppy!

today started great!  I got up just before Annabelle did so I was actually awake and happy!  I thought I was going to stay awake this morning but Annabelle fell asleep so I did as well haha.  I woke up though before her next feeding so I had time to clean bottles and do laundry.  I got more cloth diapers in the mail as well so I was very happy this morning! Everything is washed and dried.  Then there was a pit bull mix running around our neighborhood, she kept coming back to our house though.  She was very friendly but we couldn't find her owner so we had to call the cops.  She chewed through her leash that she was on (not a smart idea on the owners part putting a dog of that size on a regular leash and not a chain)... Anyways she's safe and she was nice to be around.  Annabelle sure loved her!  Afterward Annabelle and I played with her bubble machine again, the wind was a bit stronger so the bubbles were floating everywhere!  She's still not sure what to think of them but it's still fun (at least to me). Then some family came over and saw Annabelle :)  That was fun!  The rest of the night has been pretty calm.  We put Annabelle footprints on mine and my brothers race cars, turned out very cute!  So I'd say today was successful!

Update on Those Chicken Strips and the Salad

Well the meal turned out great!  Should have taken pictures but as soon as I had one bite I just dug in!  The chicken wasn't the great but was still yummy.  Now here's the big kicker and why I love this so much,  I hate salads, very rarely will I have one (basically the only time I eat one is if it's offered at some event and even then I stray from it) but this salad w/salad dressing was SO FREAKING GOOD!  I went back for seconds!  I'll definitely be getting more of this salad and making more of this dressing for a different thing to eat at lunch time!  Here's the recipe:

2/3 cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup fresh dill, chopped
2 1/2 teaspoons mustard powder
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
1 1/4 cups breadcrumbs (preferably panko)
1 cup finely grated sharp cheddar cheese
2 large eggs
1 cup vegetable oil
1 1/4 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into wide strips
1 5-ounce package mesclun greens
1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
Directions
Make the sauce: Mix the mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon dill, 2 teaspoons mustard powder, the lemon juice and 1 tablespoon water in a small bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.

Combine the breadcrumbs, cheese, the remaining 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper in a shallow bowl. Beat the eggs in another shallow bowl. Heat the vegetable oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Dip the chicken strips in the beaten egg and then in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing so the coating sticks. Working in batches, add the chicken to the skillet and cook until golden brown and crisp, about 3 minutes per side, adjusting the heat as needed. Transfer to paper towels to drain.

Place the greens in a large bowl and toss with the tomatoes, the remaining dill and 3 tablespoons of the dill-mayonnaise sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Divide the chicken and salad among plates and serve with the remaining sauce for dipping.

Whew...Another Great/Busy weekend!

So this weekend was spent racing and playing with bubbles!  I didn't do AS good as I did last week but the track wasn't in great conditions and it just wasn't my night.  I didn't do too bad though!  Just having fun and getting better each weekend.  Wish I could have another lucky weekend last last week though.  I ended up 11th out of 14 cars I believe, in my feature.  We were very surprised we raced due to the bad storms and rain, but the sun came out in the nick of time and then started raining again after the races were done.  So obviously something was in our favor!

On another note, I got Annabelle a bubble machine so we have something else fun to do outside!  Annabelle's not quite sure what to think of the bubbles yet, and the machine is a tad louder than I thought it would be but it does what it's supposed to for the money I spent on it! :)

Tonight were trying this recipe for homemade chicken strips and a salad :)  I am VERY excited and will you tell you all how it turns out!

My Oh My What a Good Day!

Well, first off Annabelle was up like every 15 minutes last night!  Every single time I went up there (except one time) she would be sleeping again by the time I got upstairs!  It took me till 5am to realize she's self-soothing!  So I stayed up and waited, heard her cry and she went back to bed without me getting up!  Then I finally went to sleep and her and I both slept till her 8am bottle!  I tried to take our morning nap after her bottle but she refused to sleep so eventually I dragged both our butts out of bed and ended up going on a walk which was a bad mistake because it was 90 degrees outside!  I really wanted to go on the walk though to get her to sleep since she needed at nap.  She fell asleep on our walk and I brought her in to sleep in the house.  I got some cleaning done but not much!  Got some of Annabelle old baby stuff packed away for my friend who's having a baby, I love helping her out as much as possible!  After I got that all done the rest of the day was pretty much spent cleaning while holding Annabelle, playing with the dog and playing with Annabelle like usual! No surprise there!  We also went grocery shopping today!  I looked up some new/healthy dinner/lunch ideas for us since my Dad and I have been meaning to start trying different things instead of the usual, that gets boring!  So we got stuff for three bean and beef chili, sloppy joes, garlic angel hair pasta w/broccoli, crispy chicken strips w/salad, italian subs. and peanut butter balls (just a snack).  I'm excited to be making all these meals from scratch and getting in the kitchen more!  I love trying new foods!  :)  Thanks every one for taking the time to read my blog posts and give feedback, you guys are awesome :)

Day Full of Fun and a Happy Baby!

Woke up this morning next to Annabelle, she was up all night again.  No fever today though!  Annabelle's been happy all day and very playful.  We worked on tummy time today too which she did great with.  I'm trying to get her to scoot but no progress in that aspect.  I did some cleaning today yay!  Annabelle's getting better at entertaining herself more and more each day, which makes cleaning much easier.  I guess there's not much else to say for today.  We played all day and cleaned.  I even got some of my old kids books and put together Annabelle's "Play bin" that's full of toys, books, and a blanket.  It stays in the living room since we play in the living room the most and so that I can take Annabelle outside any time just by grabbing the bucket and going :)  Tomorrow were going to be doing the same thing, my goal is to get every area in the house as clean as possible in this next week or so.  Not sure if I want to attack each room at a time or just the whole house in general and clean as I see things that need to be done.  Still deciding.  Anyways that's it for today!  Here's Annabelle having some fun play time before bed :) Have a nice night!

Doctor Doctor Doctor!

Went in for Annabelle's 6 month appointment yesterday!  She did great!  She weighs 15lbs 12oz and is 26in tall!  Insane!  She's sitting up, rolling over, babbling, etc.  She's so strong too!  Her doctor has to fight her to check her arms/legs because she's too strong haha.  Annabelle's so big now!  We talked about starting solid foods so now there will be one time during the day every day where I eat and she eats at the same time like lunch or dinner :)  After her appointment we brought my books back to the library and went to the grocery to get annabelle fresh bananas, an avacado, nectarines, and carrots :)  I won't be feeding her baby food because it's so unhealthy.  Yesterday she had bananas for dinner!  Most ended up on her bib but that's alright!  She started eating it after a while but it will take some time :)

Annabelle was up all night because of her shots so she slept in my room.  When we got up this morning she had a temp of 101 so i gave her a cool washcloth, some tylenol and got her to sleep for 3 hours after her first bottle till her next bottle, then her temp was 99.3 so I must have done something right.  She pretty much slept again till her next bottle again till 2pm and then i tried to play with her outside but she got crabby so shes sleeping again.  I got some pictures though! Even a SMILE!

Just For Fun!

There's not MUCH to say today!  Other than last night in my heat race I finished FOURTH!  Best I've done so far :)  So that was pretty eventful.  Here are some cute videos of Annabelle and my heat race from last night!  My camera didn't get shut off so I don't have my feature :/  Oh yeah in my feature I had TWO MORE wrecks happen in front of me, apparently people like wrecking in front of me lately but it's whatever.  It wasn't a rollover so I'm good!

Oh Man...

So first I wake up feeling like I got hit by a train.  I could barely move, and still hurts a ton to move.  I'm not sure what made me so sore!  Also, I'm pretty sure Annabelle's teething now.  She won't take her nuks unless she's really tired and even then she chews on then for the longest time till she actually sucks on it, and she started crying if i gave her nuk so I'd put my finger in her mouth and she about gnawed off my finger!  A little later I found some of her teething toys and gave them to her, she LOVED it.  So maybe we will be seeing a pearly white soon huh?  Even though I've felt her gums and don't really feel any bumps or anything and her gums aren't white.  Besides the pain both Annabelle and I are experiencing today we had lots of fun playing! Spent a lot of time outside today on the porch while Kodin played in the yard.  Had to get Annabelle's stuff packed up and ready to go to her aunt and uncles tomorrow since it's race night!  Hopefully tomorrow will be better than last week.  Today I also accomplished getting to page 173 in my book, earlier i was at 125!  Oh and another thing, I got dog tags in the mail today from the marines!  Woohoo, I love them! :)  Annabelle getting really good at sitting up these days as well!  I'm super happy about that :)  I think that's it for today.  Have a great weekend everyone! :) Oh wait! I just remembered yesterday night I looked at my stomach and out of no where I have SOME type of bug/spider bite on my stomach!  It's so itchy and swollen.  Okay, NOW I think that's it. :)
